A DRUG personality died, while her live-in partner was injured in a shootout with operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-Western Visayas during a drug bust in Malaspina Street, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Monday morning, April 26.

The fatality was identified as Hilda Trujillo. Injured was her live-in partner Xiever Louis Rosales, both residents of Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Both of them were tagged as high-value individuals (HVI) in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Glen Soliman, team leader of RPDEU, said the suspects shot it out with operatives after sensing that they were dealing with a policeman around 8:20 a.m.

The suspects were on board an Isuzu pick-up vehicle and tried to escape, but the police managed to retaliate, hitting them on their bodies. Their vehicle also bumped the truck parked in the area.

They were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but Trujillo did not survive.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 54 sachets of shabu weighing 380 grams with estimated market value of P2.5 million, the P44,500 marked money and caliber .45 pistol.

Soliman said the name of Rosales or alias "Boss" was earlier mentioned by Christian Tulot, a suspect in a massacre in Gardenville Subdivision, Barangay Tangub.

Alias Bro or Boss was named as the source of illegal drugs by Tulot, who was already charged with murder in the killing of his four relatives on April 7.

"The suspect mentioned the name of alias ‘Boss or Bro’ as his supplier of illegal drugs so we conducted surveillance against Rosales and his live-in partner," Soliman said.

He said Rosales and his live-in partner were identified as members of Divinigracia Drug Group in Negros Occidental.

In 2017, Rosales and Trujillo were also arrested in a drug bust in Bacolod City.

Meanwhile, an estimated P136,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit ( CDEU) in Purok Boulevard, Barangay 13, Bacolod City Monday morning.

The operation also led to the arrest of Anthony Villacrusis, 24, and Gemma Mellogo, 33, both residents of Barangay 13.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 29 sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams and the P500 marked money.
