Actor and celebrity Gerald Anderson is slated to bring some star power to the Mindanao leg of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Cup as he is set to play for the Cagayan de Oro Rafters.

Cagayan de Oro is expected to be one of the most-watched teams in the league with its addition of the 32-year old Filipino-American actor. Aside from his acting credentials, the 5-foot-9 guard has had stints in the Chooks-to-Go 3x3 circuit and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) where he has played for both the Marikina Shoemasters and the Imus Bandera.

Anderson will be teaming up with former PBA MVP Jayjay Helterbrand on the Rafters as well as ex-PBA players JR Cawaling, Mac Baracael, Jason Ballesteros and Roider Cabrera.

The Mindanao leg is currently suspended by the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) pending the conclusion of the ongoing Visayas leg in Alcantara. Organizers, though, have tentatively set its opening for May 25 in Dipolog City. (JNP)
