Arrest warrant out for Cam, 6 others

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, her son and five others who were implicated in the killing of the vice mayor of Batuan, Masbate in 2019.

Cam, her son Marco Martin and the accomplices identified as Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna and Rigor dela Cruz are accused of murder and frustrated murder.

No bail was recommended for the murder case while a P200,000 bail for each accused was set for the frustrated murder case. The warrant was issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42 Judge Dinnah Aguilla-Topacio.

Charlie Yuson III, then vice mayor of Batuan in Masbate, was killed when masked suspects barged into a house along VG Cruz St. in Sampaloc, Manila on October 9, 2019.

His companions Wilfredo Pineda and Alberto Alforte were wounded. They were having breakfast when they were attacked.

A day later, police arrested De Luna, Dela Cruz, Gomez and Solis during a dragnet operation.

Police said the suspects were positively identified by the witnesses as those who killed Yuson.

Lalaine, Yuson's wife, said her husband had told her that only Cam would do him harm.

Cam has denied involvement in the killing.
