SEVEN persons were arrested, while P25,920 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday, April 27.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Absal Baid, 33; Nurmina Alih, 32; Saddam Ahamad, 29; Wilfredo Bagalanon, 43; Eugine Duhaylungsod, 25; Russel Duco, 32; and Jay Gampal, 26.
Duco said Baid was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, in San Jose Gusu village, Zamboanga City.
Seized from Baid were 20 grams of shabu with an estimated worth of P136,000, a coin purse, and P500 marked money.
Duco said that Alih and Ahamad were nabbed in possession of P34,680 worth of shabu packed in seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 2 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, in Sitio Morning Glory, Manicahan village, Zamboanga City.
Bagalanon yielded 34,000 worth of shabu, P500 marked money and a rifle grenade when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, Purok 10 in Calarian village, according to Duco.
Recovered from Duhaylungsod were P9,000 worth of shabu packed in seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4:10 p.m. Monday, April 26, at Zone 5 in Divisoria village, Zamboanga City.
Found in Duco’s possession were P6,800 worth of shabu, a coin purse, and P200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, in Fermin Enriquez Drive in Boalan village.
Seized from Gampal, meanwhile, were P5,440 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8 p.m. Monday, April 26, at Purok 4, Sitio Niyog-Niyog in Muti village.
The police said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
