OPERATIVES of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 nabbed a certain Juvelyn de los Trico, 27, in an entrapment operation in Cebu City on Monday afternoon, April 27, 2021, for alleged involvement in illegal recruitment activity.

Oliva said a certain Sheena Mae Milan and Maria Monica Atillo, in their sworn judicial affidavit alleged that de los Trico enticed them in Singapore and Dubai through a direct-hire scheme of a certain UDrive company between May 2018 and August 2019.

"Ang promised (employment) ani is 2020. 2021, nalang wa gihapon sila ma deploy," Oliva said.

The transaction happened through Facebook messenger with the suspect allegedly using various account names: Kyrie Ghat Cruz, Ghat dela Cruz Delostrico, and Zeke Kyrie.

The two complainants said among the benefits de los Trico allegedly promised to them are basic monthly salaries between P80,000 to P90,000, incentives, free board and lodging, free meals, free shuttle and free airfare.

Oliva said the complainants were required to submit documents such as passports, medical and laboratory exam results, and show money ranging from P30,000 to P40,000.

One of the two complainants, who was Juvelyn's elementary classmate, was able to give P190,000 to de los Trico.

De los Trico also allegedly asked her mother, Catalina, to help them in the processing of their travel documents and other requirements.

Oliva said they already secured a certification from Philippine Overseas Employment Agency that de los Trico, in their capacity, is not authorized to recruit workers for overseas employment. (WBS)
