NegOcc admin office on lockdown after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator's Office has been placed on lockdown Wednesday, April after one of the staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz said he had no direct contact with the Covid-positive employee since Monday as he had been attending biddings and other Capitol-related activities.

Diaz said the office staff has been placed in isolation while they will also undergo swab testing on Sunday, May 1.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed the new infection in the Capitol.

Lacson also said two other provincial government employees are being monitored and are also scheduled to undergo swab tests.

"I just hope that these two were not infected," Lacson said.

As the provincial Capitol is still adopting a four-day workweek, the Provincial Administrator's office will reopen on Monday.

A four-day work week is still being observed in the Capitol.
