THE Department of Health (DOH) has sent an additional 23,500 Sinovac vaccines to Negros Occidental Friday morning, April 30, 2021.
Zephard Caelian, head of Negros Occidental Provincial Incident Management Team, said the vaccines arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport via Philippine Airlines flight around 8:25 a.m.
The vaccines were immediately brought to the airport's cold room. During its storage at the airport, the vaccines were divided up with Negros Occidental receiving 16,000 vials, while Bacolod City receiving 7,500.
The convoy carrying the vaccines left the airport by 9:30 a.m., with 16,000 bound for the Provincial Health Office cold storage facility, and 7,500 sent to the Bacolod City Government's Center vaccine cold storage facility.
Caelian added the province's vaccine supply will be divided up again to be distributed among local government units.
The 23,500 Sinovac vaccines are part of the 500,000 vaccines received by the Philippines from China Thursday.
