Pampanga board member extends support to Magalang community pantries

FORMER Lubao mayor and now 2nd District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab led a contingent of donors and supports on Thursday, April 29, 2021, as she extended support to at least three community pantries in Magalang town, Pampanga.

The provincial lawmaker brought with her truckloads of farm produce bought from local farmers and farm producers through her personal funds and donations of a couple of supporters.

Cayabyab said the move aimed to provide extra income to local producers who were hard hit by the pandemic. The goods included assorted vegetables, rice and eggs, among others.

Cayabyab visited community pantries operated by non-government organizations and barangay officials.

She said the added support aimed to sustain further the capacity of community pantries to further support local hungry families who depend on free goods for their daily needs.

Community pantries in other towns of Pampanga will also receive the same support from her, she added.

Cayabyab was joined in her rounds by local officials and youth leaders. (SunStar Pampanga)
