THREE fishermen were arrested while some P1.4 million worth of suspected illegal drugs seized by undercover government agents in an anti-drug operation around 11:10am Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Barangay Manicahan in Zamboanga City.
Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula director identified the suspects as Sattar Jamil Alam, 50, Alshimar Jamil Sahali, 25; both from the town of Lantawan, Basilan and Makin Jamil Bahara, 48, from Maluso town.
Ylagan said that the suspects yielded some 205.8 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1.4 million, 69 pieces of P1,000 boodle money with five genuine P200 bills as marked money.
He said the arrested suspects and the seized illegal drugs were placed under the custody of Police Station 10 in preparation for the filing of appropriate charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
