One of them is a trending cafe named after the owner’s corgi, Charlie’s Cup. Located in Barangay Tabunan, Sitio Inaad, what used to be a family sanctuary during the pandemic has been an instant favorite for Cebuanos since it opened last Christmas day.
Its scenic view and relaxing ambiance invite customers to relax. They are literally surrounded by blooming flowers, plants of different kinds, lacy white-edged clouds rolling in over the ever blue skies and mountains.
The alfresco cafe is homey. Here, you can indulge in comfort food such as suman, latik and sikwate (chocolate drink), champorado, all-day breakfast meals, cakes, strawberry drink and specialty coffees.
Breathe easy. Charlie’s Cup provides a change of pace and scenery from the four walls of your home, to recharge and relax.
From a small private hut to a small kiosk with two decks offering a 150-seating capacity, Charlie’s Cup is furnished with earth-toned furniture, wooden tables and chairs, a little play nook for the little ones, brick-walled exterior, ample parking, a PWD-friendly restroom and its trademark stairs painted with two Corgis.
Charlie’s Cup’s main goals are to provide good coffee in a kid- and pet-friendly environment, ideal for families who want to unwind especially after almost a year of deprivation from the great outdoors, and to create an opportunity for Cebuanos who lost their jobs during the pandemic.
“We try our best to support local suppliers and provide employment for people who lost their jobs recently,” said the cafe’s owner.
The cafe also accepts private functions during weekdays, ideal for those who want to celebrate their special events in a scenic place. Charlie’s Cup is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during weekdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends.
