2 killed in San Enrique road mishap

TWO persons were killed in a road accident involving three vehicles around 9 p.m. of April 30, 2021 in Barangay Tabao Rizal, San Enrique.

The victims were identified as Joleto Villahermosa, 25, of So. Mantitihol, Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana; and Hermie Hadia, 55, of Barangay Recreo, Pontevedra.

Based on the report of San Enrique Police Station, the front tire of Isuzu truck loaded with sugarcane from north direction exploded, that is why the driver identified as Joshua Junsay, 23, of Barangay Nato, La Castellana, lost control of the truck and accidentally bumped the left rear portion of Mitsubishi canter driven Bernan Saladas, 26, of Barangay Biak na Bato, La Castellana.

The canter, according to the police report, also hit a Kasawaski motorcycle driven by Hadia.

The victims and the truck driver sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies and they were immediately brought to Don Salvador Benedicto Hospital, La Carlota City for medical treatment but the two victims were declared dead on arrival.

Junsay was still under observation at said hospital as of press time.

The truck, according to the police report, also overshot from the road and hit the houses of April Joy Donasco, which caused undetermined cost of damages.

The truck driver was held by the San Enrique Police while the vehicles involved were also taken custody by the police for proper disposition.
