THE Department of Health (DOH) is expected to deliver the seven new ambulances for Bacolod City this month.

Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said Sunday, May 2, that the DOH will deliver the seven new ambulances for Bacolod City this month, which was purchased by the National Government.

He said the new ambulances will be distributed to the seven barangays with no ambulance such as Barangays Handumanan, Felisa, Cabug, Mansilingan, Banago, Tangub and Pta. Taytay.

He added the procurement of ambulances, which costs P2.5 million each, was taken from the 2019 budget.

Gasataya noted the seven new ambulances are now at DOH-Regional Office and it's ready for a delivery here in Bacolod.

Gasataya earlier submitted this proposal to DOH, claiming that there is a need to improve the health services in barangays, especially to those that do not have an ambulance.

Gasataya said there was a delay in the process or procurement of said units due to the pandemic.

He said he contacted the DOH-Regional Office last week and he was informed that the new ambulances for Bacolod are set to be delivered in the city.

"This a big help for our barangays, especially now that we have a pandemic," he added.
