Cagayan de Oro logs 105 new cases over the weekend

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office logged 105 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 5,001.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 105 new local cases, 33 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 47 are local index cases, 24 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one death.

Of the 5,001 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 437 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,564 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 538 active cases, 128 of whom are currently admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 407 are outpatients, and three are ROFs/LSIs.

The city recorded one case that was retagged to El Salvador, Misamis Oriental.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 41 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,245, with an 84.88 percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 310 are LSIs, 122 are ROFs, and 3,813 are local cases (community: 3,240; Apors: 573).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 218.
