AN ADDITIONAL five police officers of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Bacolod City, a BCPO official said Monday, May 3, 2021.
Police Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, spokesperson of BCPO, said the swab test result was released Monday and five police officers tested positive for the virus.
She said more than 700 policemen underwent swab tests from April 24 until May 2.
She added those who tested positive for the virus were asymptomatic and were already transferred to the city's quarantine facility.
Indiape noted that some of the police officers are expected to report this week after the completion of their 14-day quarantine.
An augmentation personnel from BCPO headquarters were also deployed to various police stations since some of their personnel tested positive for the coronavirus.
All BCPO personnel earlier underwent swab tests based on the recommendation of the Emergency Operations Center since they are also frontliners.
