Northern Samar’s top 1 most wanted for rape nabbed in Cavite

AUTHORITIES arrested the top 1 most wanted person of Northern Samar following a “manhunt Charlie operation” by operatives of Rosario Municipal Police Station over the weekend.

Lieutenant Ma. Edlyn Encina, chief of Rosario police, said alias Dong, 53, was arrested in his hiding place at Rolling Hills, Barangay F. De Castro, GMA, Cavite.

The accused was facing four counts of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

"With the directives of our Provincial Director, Colonel Arnel Apud, our unit will continue its efforts against these hiding criminals. I urge the public to provide us any information as to the whereabouts of any wanted person roaming freely in their communities," said Encina.

According to the police chief, the arrest of alias Dong on Saturday, May 1, 2021, was made through the coordinating efforts of Pandacan Station 10 and Women and Children Concern Section of Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management of the Manila Police District.

The judge did not recommend bail to the accused.

Alias Dong was brought to the police station prior to turnover to the court of origin. (SunStar Philippines)
