Celebrate Mother’s Day with ‘Mommy Issues’

WHAT will you do if your daughter wants to live independently too early?

What will you do if your mother finds a love interest after 50?

That’s the two questions Mommy Issues’ main characters, played by veteran comedienne Pokwang and versatile actress Sue Ramirez, will have to answer in the Mother’s Day-themed movie offering by Regal Entertainment Inc.

This upcoming comedy-drama film, which will be streaming on May 7, will surely make everyone in the family, especially mothers and daughters, laugh and cry. The film showcases how a family deals with a serious problem in a light and entertaining manner.

Completing the cast are Jerome Ponce, Ryan Bang, Gloria Diaz, Kyle Velino, and introducing Chanel Morales.

Asked how she rewards herself whenever she feels she has done extra good to her children, Pokwang said making her family happy is already a reward by itself.

“Parang wala naman ako ganun... Kapag may nagawa akong mabuti sa pamilya ko, ang saya-saya ko na (I don’t usually treat myself because whenever I did something to make my family happy, that also makes me happy),” she said in a virtual press briefing last Thursday, April 29.

She shared that cooking and eating their favorite food are some of their family bonding moments.

Meanwhile, Sue shared that whenever she had a misunderstanding with her mother, they would always try to resolve the issue within a day or the next.

“Our mom is always in charge. Pero yung mga hindi pagkakaunawaan, agad-agad na reresolba at hindi na tumatagal mga two days. Bago matapos ang araw okay na agad-agad kasi ganun kami sa family namin. Ayaw namin masyado mag dwell sa mga problema kasi nakaka nega (If we have misunderstandings, we strive to resolve it right away, maximum is two days. That’s how we deal our problems as a family. We do not want to dwell so much on problems because it brings only negative vibes),” she said.

Written and directed by multi-awarded veteran director Jose Javier Reyes, “Mommy Issues” will be streaming on May 7, 2021, on Upstream.ph, KTX. ph, and iWantTFC at TFC IPTV.
