3 nabbed in Zamboanga City anti-drug stings

THREE unemployed individuals were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, May 5.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, newly-install Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Richard Miguel Tanpua, 37; Spencer Casocot Corpuz, 23; and Jumadil Hadjula Dawama, 28.

Chang said Tanpua and Corpuz were nabbed in a buy-bust operation around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in Zone 7A, Zambowood village, Zamboanga City.

Seized from the two were a gram of shabu worth P6,800 and P200 marked money consisting to two P100 bills.

Chang said Dawama was arrested in another buy-bust operation around 10:35 p.m. Tuesday in Recodo village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from Dawama were 2.94 grams of shabu worth P19,992 and P300 marked money comprising of three P100 bills.

Chang said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
