PWDS to receive 5-month cash aid

THE Cebu City government is set to distribute cash assistance worth P5,000 to the city’s 12,000 registered persons with disabilities (PWDs) on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

In his official Facebook page, Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella said the cash aid for the city’s PWDs is for the months of January to May this year.

Labella said they decided to proceed with the distribution of the PWD cash aid after the City was able to complete distribution for the cash aid of the city’s senior citizens last month.

To ensure that PWDs will receive the aid without the risk of contracting Covid-19, the City will conduct a house-to-house distribution.

“We will be distributing the cash aid on Saturday so that our PWDs can use it for their needs, such as to buy their maintenance medicines and for their basic needs,” Labella said.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, the Cebu City government has decided to distribute the cash assistance by bulk.

Like the city’s senior citizens, registered PWDs received P12,000 or P1,000 per month from the Cebu City Government. (PAC / JKV)
