ALL police stations in Cebu Province and the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) headquarters in Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City will soon have their backyard gardens that follow the model of the Cebu Provincial Government’s Sugbusog program.

CPPO Director Col. Engelbert Soriano has informed Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia that he has directed his men to set up a backyard garden at the provincial headquarters and in all police stations in every local government unit within Cebu Province that is under CPPO's jurisdiction.

Gardening will be included in the police’s athletic activities on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends.

Starting May 15, Soriano will start to go around the province’s 44 towns and six component cities to check the police stations’ vegetable gardens.

The SUGBUsog or “Sugbuanong Busog, Luwas, Himsog” is among the several programs launched by the Cebu Provincial Government during the height of community lockdowns to prevent food shortage in Cebu. (NRC/With PR)
