Pampanga posts highest new Covid-19 cases in Central Luzon

THE province of Pampanga registered the highest number of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Central Luzon for six consecutive days.

Based on the data released by Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon, Pampanga has been topping the daily list of the region provinces' fresh Covid-19 cases since March 25.

On the first day, Pampanga registered 95 fresh cases, followed by Bulacan with 59, Tarlac with 37, Bataan with 31, Aurora with 30, and Nueva Ecija and Nueva Ecija with three each.

The number of new cases reported by Pampanga surged to 286 on March 26, with Angeles City registering the highest new cases in the region with 193.

The province of Bulacan placed second with only 66 new cases on the said day, followed by Tarlac with 33, Bataan with 29, Zambales with 12, Aurora with eight and Nueva Ecija with one.

From March 27 to 29, a cumulative number of 300 new cases was reported by the province of Pampanga, including Angeles City.

The number was more than half of the total number of fresh cases reported in the whole region during the said weekend.

It was followed by Aurora in the highest number of new cases with 53, followed by Bulacan with 48, Tarlac with 41, Nueva Ecija with 24, Zambales with 21, and Bataan with 13.

On Tuesday, March 30, the province, including Angeles City, registered a total of 147 cases, the highest among the seven provinces in the region.

Bataan province had the second highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 57, followed by Bulacan with 57, Tarlac with 42, Nueva Ecija with two, while Aurora and Zambales did not report any new case.

On its latest report, DOH-Central Luzon noted 2,357 active Covid-19 cases in Pampanga as of March 30.
