70 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 70 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 5,182.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 70 new local cases, 27 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, nine were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 32 were local index cases and two deaths.

Of the 5,182 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,744 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 640 active cases, 140 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 496 were outpatients, and four were ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 36 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,318, with an 83.32-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 310 were LSIs, 122 were ROFs, and 3,886 were local cases (community: 3,301; Apors: 585).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 224.
