5,147 senior citizens in Oro inoculated with Covid-19 vaccine

A TOTAL of 5,147 senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro have received their first doses of the Sinovac vaccine against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Cagayan de Oro conducted the vaccination for senior citizens on April 29, April 30, May 3, 4 and 5.

Mayor Oscar Moreno, during the daily press conference at the city hall, apologized to the 143 senior citizens who went to the vaccination area at the SM CDO Downtown Premier on Wednesday, May 5, and were not able to get vaccinated.

"Mangayo mi'g pasaylo. Dunay communication gap," Moreno said. He also assured that this will not happen again.

Meanwhile, the vaccination for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccines for frontline healthcare workers will start on Friday, May 7.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery reminded those under the A1 priority group or worker in the frontline health services to wait for the text message from the data management center.

"Please wait for the text message from our data management center. Mao na sya ang confirmation ninyo nga sa inyong schedule of your second dose nga vaccination ug sa venue kung asa mo mag proceed," Nery said.
