CHO, Cenro told to take action on waste disposal complaint vs JNC Food Corp

THE Bacolod City Council approved a resolution requesting the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) through the Office of the City Mayor to investigate the matter on waste disposal of JNC Food Corporation in Purok Puentebella, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Archie Baribar, was approved during a regular session of the City Council on Wednesday afternoon, May 5, 2021.

Baribar, chairperson of the City Council committee on energy and public utilities, said the CHO and Cenro should investigate and take appropriate action on the matter of waste disposal of JNC Food Corporation.

He said the JNC Food Corp., a food-processing company located in Purok Puentebella, Barangay Alijis, has been subject to complaints from nearby residents for some time.

“The complaint pertains to the disposal of said company to the nearby creek,” he added.

Baribar stressed that the said complaints affect the health of residents nearby and harm its immediate environment.

Baribar also asked the CHO and Cenro to submit a report to the City Council on the result of its investigation or its action taken on the subject matter.
