ILOILO City Government’s information dissemination and education campaign on vaccination against Covid-19 has been recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) on its social media accounts.

The VAX or Vaccine Explainer is a series featuring medical experts and officials encouraging residents and non-residents of legal age working in the city to take the shot to boost their protection against the virus.

The massive information drive in the city's Facebook accounts has answered Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), thus addressing hesitancy and getting more support and testimonials from those already vaccinated.

DOH stressed the initiative is a good example on how right information encourages people to get the vaccine by trusting science and become vaccination champions.

Mayor Jerry Treñas encouraged Ilonggos and those working in the metropolis to register in preparation for vaccine rollout expected to start in June or July.

Aside from their respective barangays, they can drop by registration sites at malls, including Festive Mall Ground Floor hallway near Adidas, Robinsons Main Ground Level Ledesma Wing near Fountain Area, and SM City Lower Ground Floor in front of Cafe Iloilo from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Sunday.

Residents need to present valid ID with address or company ID with business address at city for non-residents.

Registrants must have an active email address where the QR code needed for vaccination will be sent. (PR)
