SEVEN people, including two fishermen, were arrested, while P1.094 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Friday, May 7, 2021.

Ylagan said Armida is the mother of Jonar Jur-Asri, 25, and Moner Jul-Asri, 24, who were rescued allegedly by their brother, who turned out to be a former policeman.

Ylagan said that prior to their arrest, Armida "was anxious and upon asking her the whereabouts of her two sons, Armida gave her sling bag to her daughter in-law, Zarmida Rajan" when pursuing police went to their residence.

Ylagan said Armida's bag was found to be containing some 150 grams of shabu packed in three plastic sachets with an estimated value of P1,020,000 when the RDEU-Zamboanga Peninsula personnel asked her to open the sling bag.

He also said that two Pawakis and Abubakar were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:40 a.m. Friday, May 7, in Sitio Asinan in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Confiscated from the three were five grams of shabu packed in six heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P34,000, a coin purse, and P300 marked money consisting of three P100 bills.

Ylagan said that Pene, a fisherman, was arrested in possession of P1,523.20 worth of shabu and P500 bill marked money in a buy-bust operation around 8:40 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in Purok Acacia in Buluan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

He said Otih, also a fisherman, yielded P38,700 worth of shabu and P500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Bucana village, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
