Global Shapers Cebu kickstarts ‘Cebootcamp’

THE Global Shapers Cebu Hub has announced the launch of its 2021 flagship project “Cebootcamp.”

Cebootcamp is an initiative that helps displaced workers in the hospitality and tourism industry find online freelancing job opportunities.

Why freelancing? Due to Covid-19, many companies started transitioning to a work-from-home setup and became more open to hiring individual contractors or freelancers to sustain operations.

Cebootcamp by Global Shapers Cebu gathers seasoned freelancing experts and reputable business professionals to share over a series of public online webinars, their expertise, and tips on how to thrive in the world of online freelancing, especially during the pandemic.

The webinar sessions are slated on two Saturdays, May 8 and May 15, 2021.

On May 8, the Cebootcamp will have webinar sessions on “Freelancing in 2021” and “The The Ultimate Freelancing Toolbox.” On May 15, the webinar will tackle “Freelancing Hacks You Should Know About,” “Sustaining Your Freelancing Career” and “Resiliency in the Covid-19 Pandemic.”

After completing all four learning and training sessions, Cebootcamp scholars will be guided through the process of applying and getting hired for an online job by members of the Global Shapers Cebu Hub.

The Global Shapers Community Cebu is part of a worldwide network of hubs committed to creating a local positive impact in their cities. As part of the youth arm of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community Cebu

Hub is composed of young leaders aged 20 to 33 years old with the common desire to help improve the state of the world, focusing on Cebu.
