Oro logs 54 new Covid-19 cases; total now at 5,236

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office logged 54 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the city to 5,236.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 54 new local cases, 23 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 27 were local index cases, and four were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 5,236 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,798 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 671 active cases, 175 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 492 were outpatients, and four were ROFs/LSIs.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 23 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,341, with 82.90-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 310 were LSIs, 122 were ROFs, and 3,909 were local cases (community: 3,321; Apors: 588).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 224.
