THE Bravo Company of the Army’s 64th Infantry Battalion (IB) established a community pantry in the municipality of Sumisip, Basilan.

Lieutenant Colonel Renante Besa, 64IB commander, said most of the beneficiaries were from Sitio 1-L in Cabcaban village, Sumisip.

Besa said the pantry has sardines, eggs, noodles, and rice courtesy of Bravo Company and fresh vegetables harvested by troops from their Project Clean and Green towards Sustainable Peace and Development Demo Farm.

“In this trying time, soldiers in their simplest way expressed their love and care to those who are in need,” Besa said.

He noted that the recipients said “Magsukol,” a simple gesture from them “that made our soldiers more inspired and determined to extend the pantry in neighboring barangays.”

The community pantry, which was held Thursday, May 6, was anchored on the theme “Bravo Company’s Community Pantry-Magbigay ng Bukal sa Kalooban, Sundalong Maasahan.”

It was organized by Bravo “Blackwolves” Company through their Community Support Program Team. (SunStar Zamboanga)
