7 nabbed in separate anti-drug stings

SEVEN drug suspects were arrested while some P56,500 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office (PRO) Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the suspects as the following: Roger Atilano, 23; Joemar Jacaria, 36; Aivan Lim, 37; Jonathan Panung, 43; Sitti Rahma Abubakar, 44; Jhordz Bangonsahi, 18; and, Haiver Ibrahim, 45.

Chang said Atilano was found in possession of some P2,500 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, May 9, in Tumaga village, this city.

Recovered from Jacaria and Lim were some 2.5 grams of suspects shabu worth P17,000, a coin purse, a sports utility vehicle, and P500 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 4 p.m. Saturday at Macrohon Drive in Canelar village, this city.

Chang said Panung and Abubakar yielded someP10,200 worth of suspected and P200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 5:10 p.m. Saturday at Rancho Subdivision in Sinunuc village, this city.

Seized from Bangonsahi were some P6,800 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:50 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Dumpsite in Kasanyangan village, this city.

Chang said Ibrahim was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 10 p.m. Saturday in Camino Nuevo village, this city.

Recovered from Ibrahim’s possession were some P20,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

Chang said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
