2 men killed, P149-M drugs seized in Pasig

TWO men were killed in a drug bust that also yielded P149.6 million worth of illegal drugs in Kalawan, Pasig City over the weekend, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Guillermo Eleazar said on Monday, May 10, 2021.

One of the slain suspects was identified as Arthur Abdul. The other was still being identified.

Eleazar said the drug bust, which was conducted at 9:10 p.m. on May 9, led to a gunfight.

Recovered from the slain suspects were 22 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P149.6 million and two guns.

Citing the report of PNP-Drug Enforcement Group Director Remus Medina, Eleazar said the suspects were known distributors of Michael Lucas Abdul, who was arrested in a drug bust in Dasmariñas City, Cavite last April 26, 2021.

The group allegedly gets their supply of illegal drugs from a Muslim Filipino known as Bating, who is also a “bodegero” of an unidentified Chinese national.

"They are both well known drug proliferators in Region 3 (Central Luzon), NCR (National Capital Region), Region 4A (Calabarzon) and other nearby provinces. The said suspects are cohorts of one of the target personalities of Oplan Chain Knuckle," Medina said in his report to Eleazar. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
