Covid-19 deaths in Central Luzon reach 2,191

THE total number of coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic in Central Luzon has now reached a total of 2,191, as confirmed cases totaled 93,251, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

For May 9 alone, the DOH recorded 773 cases in Central Luzon. Of the confirmed cases, 83,422 have since recovered, while 7,638 remain active.

Bulacan has the greatest number of active cases at 41,312, followed by Pampanga with 17,906 and Nueva Ecija with 9,150.

Bataan currently has 7,046 confirmed cases, while Tarlac province has 6,449 confirmed cases.

Total deaths from the virus in Bulacan have reached a total of 814 cases. This is followed by Pampanga with 552 cases and Nueva Ecija with 247.

Bataan also has 151 recorded deaths, while Angeles City alone has recorded 161 mortalities.

Total Covid-19 deaths in the region in the last 14 days have reached 200.

Of the 176 health facilities in the region, which accounts for 4,279 beds, occupancy rate is at 55.6 percent. Some 2,380 beds are currently occupied.
