NO ONE got hurt in a fire incident at a restaurant in GMall of Davao in JP Laurel Avenue, Davao City past 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021.

All the customers were immediately advised to vacate the mall.

A Facebook Live of one Carlo Barabad shows that the firefighters who responded to the area immediately sprayed water at the restaurant where a heavy smoke was coming from.

At 11:45 a.m., the firefighters declared it fire out.

Meanwhile, GMall released a statement on the same day, saying the mall is "now safe and open."

"Today, one of the restaurants outside of GMall of Davao experienced problems with their chimney. A fire broke out but thanks to the immediate response of the Bureau of Fire Protection, fire volunteers and our Safety Team, we had the fire under control in less than 15 minutes. Fortunately, no injury or harm was reported during the incident," the statement read.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), however, has not released its initial report regarding the incident as of Monday, May 10.

It can be recalled that one of the restaurants in GMall experienced the same incident some time ago. (Jeepy P. Compio)
