Cagayan de Oro logs 128 new cases over the weekend

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health logged 128 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 5,430.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 128 new local cases, 49 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 44 are local index cases, and 35 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 5,430 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,992 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 749 active cases, 219 of whom are currently admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 527 are outpatients, and three are ROFs/LSIs.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 68 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,452, with an 81.98 percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 311 are LSIs, 123 are ROFs, and 4,018 are local cases (community: 3,419; Apors: 599).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 229.
