Msgr. Garcia namatay sa kaulohan

Ang kanhi chairman sa Archdiocesan Commission on Worship ug founder sa Society of the Angel of Peace Msgr. Cristobal Garcia nitawal na sa edad nga 69 kagahapon, Mayo 10.

Namatay siya samtang gitambalan sa Manila tungod sa komplikasyon sa pneumonia, heart failure ug acute kidney failure, sumala sa pamahayag sa pamilya ni Garcia.

“We are currently making arrangements to bring his body home to Cebu where he will lie in state before burial,” dugang sa pamahayag.

Si Garcia nahimong kontrobersiyal human na-feature kaniadto sa usa ka isyu sa National Geographic magazine nga nag-ulohan og “Blood Ivory” diin ang magsusuwat nga si Bryan Christy nihimo og taas nga pakighinabi sa monsignor kinsa iyang gihulagway nga usa sa ‘best known ivory collectors in the country’, base sa nahiunan g taho ning mantalaan.

“We are not denying that there was a controversy created by the NatGeo article involving, among other things, ivory trading. But his health was already failing at that time and probably the best recourse for him was to rest and recover so as not to endanger his life any further,” pamahayag ni Msgr. Joseph Tan, tigpamaba sa Archdiocese of Cebu.
