MORE than 450 young persons with disabilities (PWDs) from the City of San Fernando were part of this year’s educational assistance program of the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

Adeline Aquino, City PWD focal person, said the beneficiaries were PWD students under the elementary to senior high school levels and children who have PWD parents.

Through the help of the City’s Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office, the activity was successfully held on May 10, 2021 in six barangays, where each beneficiary received P2,500 cash assistance.

The provincial government said the program was aimed at fostering the self-worth of PWDs through education, as they are subject to challenges and criticisms that may hinder their success.

Apart from this, the City Government regularly conducts programs for PWDs, including livelihood and skills training, training on crafts making, seminars on empowerment and personality development, job fairs, and other recreational activities. (PR)
