Minors used as drug couriers rescued

THREE male minors used as drug couriers were rescued by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon during a buy-bust operation in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan on Wednesday afternoon, May 12, 2021.

Acting on a report that illegal drug activities were rampant in the area, agents of PDEA launched an entrapment operation against a suspect identified only with his alias "Abdul."

During the buy-bust operation, it was the minors aged 12 and 13 years old who came on behalf of the target personality to transact with authorities.

Investigation revealed that Abdul instructed the minors to deliver the illegal substances inside a subdivision and promised to pay for their services.

The minors, who yielded 100 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P680,000, were immediately rescued by PDEA agents.

They will be turned over to the Local Social Welfare Development Officer, while the target personality, who is still at large, will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
