Bacolod to open 10 other vaccination centers on March 14

THE City Government of Bacolod will open 10 other vaccination centers in various barangays in the city starting Friday, March 14, 2021.

Councilor Renecito Novero, member of Bacolod Covid-19 vaccination Council, said Thursday the city government earlier received more than 19,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government and they should administer it within six or seven days.

He said the city has a total of 21 vaccination centers and starting Friday, they will open in the area of Barangay Villamonte until May 17; Barangay Mansilingan on May 14, 17 18, 20 and 21; Barangay Alijis on May 14, 17, 18, and 20; Barangay Granada from May 14, 17 and 18.

They will also open the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School-Cluster from May 14, 17, 18 and 19; Punta Taytay on May 14; Barangay 39 Cluster and Barangay Mandalagan on May 14 and 17; Barangay Taculing on May 14, 17, 18, 20 and 21; and Barangay Singcang-Airport on May 14, 17 and 18.

Novero said the 11 other vaccination centers in Barangay Montevista will also open from May 18 until 19; Barangay Handumanan on May 20 and 21; Barangay Vista Alegre on May 17 and 18; Barangay Felisa on May 21; Barangay Estefania on May 17, 18, 20 and 21; and Barangay Alangilan on May 19 and 29.

Education and Training Center 1-Cluster will be open on May 17, 18, 20 and 21; Barangyay Pahanocoy on May 21; Barangay Bata on May 17, 18 and 20; Barangay Banago on May 17, 18, 20 and 21; Barangay 38 Cluster on May 20 and 21.

Aside from the 21 vaccination centers, the city has an ongoing vaccination at SM City and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Novero said the vaccination centers will be managed by the City Health Office with doctors, nurses, and midwives at each center.

He said the additional AstraZeneca vaccines will be used for the healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3) eligible priority groups who have yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

He added they will accommodate only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from the Emergency Operations Center of their confirmed appointments.

The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come-first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the City's database.

The Bacolod CoVac already administered more than 12,000 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines in the city.
