SAN Carlos City Mayor Rene Gustilo is urging residents of the city to register for vaccination.

Gustilo made the appeal following the completion of the Covid-19 vaccine drive for Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (Bherts) earlier this week.

In a message sent by the city mayor, he told residents that getting vaccinated is for the betterment of everyone.

He said to the city's residents that if they achieve "herd immunity," they will be able to start returning to normalcy.

Dr. Jessa Tiapon, vaccine deputy vice chair for the city's Emergency Operations Center, said they will not accept walk-in applicants once they start vaccinating the next priority group, which are senior citizens (A2), followed by those with comorbidities (A3).

Tiapon said applicants should pre-register via the city's Vamos app.

Earlier this week, 225 Bherts in the city were successfully inoculated using either the CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine made by Chinese biotech company Sinovac and the United Kingdom-made AstraZeneca vaccine.
