THE Bacolod Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac) is eying to open another vaccination center in Robinsons Mall in the city.

Bacolod City Councilor Renecito Novero, member of CoVac, said they inspected the Robinsons Mall on Friday, May 14, 2021, and they will use it as one of the Covid-19 vaccination centers.

He said the city government has an ongoing Covid-19 vaccination in SM City Bacolod and Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and Robinsons Mall will also be part of this program soon.

Aside from the malls, he added the city already opened seven new vaccination centers in various barangays to accommodate the healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3) eligible priority groups who have yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

The seven new vaccination centers include the areas of Barangays Villamonte, Mansilingan, Alijis, Punta Taytay, and Mandalagan. The two other centers are for clustered barangays, the Barangay 39 cluster and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School Cluster.

Novero said in order to avail of the free vaccination of Bacolod City, one can register online through the link tinyurl.com/bcdceironline.

He said the city government earlier received more than 19,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government and they should administer it within six days.

He added more than 1,000 healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities were vaccinated Friday from various vaccination centers and it also included the two vaccination centers in SM City Bacolod and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia along with Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran also inspected the vaccination centers from various barangays and there was no untoward incident reported.

Novero said they also inspected Robinsons Mall on Friday.

Aside from the 10 vaccination centers in the barangays and malls, he said the city will also open 11 additional vaccination centers in various barangays from May 17 to 21.

Novero said they will accommodate only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from the Emergency Operations Center of their confirmed appointments.

The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come-first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the City's database.

Leonardia earlier said it is the target of the City to inoculate as many Bacolodnons as possible.

“While our vaccine supply meanwhile is dependent on the national government allocation, we will try to vaccinate as fast as possible upon the arrival of the vaccines. We expect that by July when the installments of our locally funded 650, 000 AstraZeneca doses start to arrive, we can even accelerate the whole process,” he said.
