Suarez up against zero-loss Racaza

OLYMPIAN Charly Suarez faces one of his stiffest tests to date as he takes on unbeaten prospect Ryan James Racaza on July 3, 2021 in a yet-to-be-determined venue in Luzon.

The 32-year-old Suarez is on a tear since turning pro in 2019 after a gold medal finish in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Suarez has been very impressive in the pro ranks, knocking out all but one of his six opponents. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, he has already fought twice in 2021. He totally outclassed tough Jon Jon Estrada via a convincing unanimous decision and a fourth-round technical knockout of Pablito Canada.

Suarez should have his hands full against the 24-year-old Racaza, who’s yet to taste defeat.

Racaza has beaten club fighters like Prell Tupas, Rey Ramos and Jayar Estremos. Suarez should be the toughest opponent he has ever faced in his career.

Racaza last saw action in 2019 with a third-round knockout over Ramos.

Suarez is 6-0 with five knockouts, while Racaza is 11-0 with seven knockouts.

Also in the same show is a showdown between heavy-hitters Bienvenido Ligas and Miel Fajardo.

Ligas is fresh from a unanimous decision win over Alphoe Dagayloan for the Philippines Games and Amusements Board flyweight title last Feb. 13, 2021 in Tarlac.

Fajardo, on the other hand, has not fought for over a year. He stopped previously unbeaten Fernan Agencia in eight rounds on Nov. 10, 2019 in Gumaca.

Ligas is 13-1-1 with nine knockouts, while Fajardo is 7-1-1 with six knockouts. (EKA)
