Liquor ban remains in Tarlac areas with high Covid-19 cases

THE Provincial Government of Tarlac will still impose a liquor ban on areas with high number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases.

In a resolution on the updated guidelines for the management of Covid-19 cases in the Tarlac released on Friday, the liquor ban will still in effect in the towns of Bamban, Camiling, Capas, Concepcion, Gerona Paniqui, and Tarlac City until May 31,2021.

The daily curfew will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. of the next day from May 16 until May 31, 2021, the resolution said.

The guidelines added that face-to-face cockfighting in Tarlac is still strictly prohibited.

However, cockfighting for the sole purpose of e-sabong licensed and regulated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is allowed.

All essential travels should also comply with the requirements of the provincial government of Tarlac Travel Pass (www.pgtravelpass.com) and the Movement Activity Tracker Application (www.mata.wah.ph) as the primary contact tracing system.

Meanwhile, all updated resolutions of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of the Covid-19 imposing additional restrictive measures shall be strictly followed, the resolution added.

“The continued implementation of pro-active measures is necessary to ensure the utmost protection of the health of the Filipino people in general and the Tarlaquenos in particular,” Governor Susan Yap said in a statement.

Tarlac is among the provinces in Central Luzon under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) from May 15 to May 31, 2021.

As of May 13, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Tarlac is 5,765 with 1,531 active cases.

The total number of recoveries is 3,961 while the total number of deaths is 273. (PNA)
