PAMPANGA Governor Dennis Pineda has donated antigen machines and test kits to the Provincial Government of Bataan for use in the continuing fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Bataan Governor Albert Garcia said on May 14, 2021, he received the 12 iChroma Antigen machines and test kits personally delivered by the Pampanga governor on Wednesday at The Bunker, seat of the Provincial Government.

The machines were distributed to mayors and health officers of the province’s 11 towns and one city who were all thankful to Pineda.

This is a big help in the ongoing fight against Covid-19 and can also be used to diagnose other diseases after the pandemic),” the Bataan governor said in an official social media post.

Vitaline Health Care, Inc., the company which supplied the medical equipment, conducted a training and demonstration on how to operate the antigen machines.

Garcia also announced that this province is continuously preparing for massive inoculation once the big bulk of Covid-19 vaccines arrives.

The City of Balanga has also started the importation of equipment for masterlisting data and vaccine cold as well as the training of personnel who will be assigned to gather data and front-liners who will manage the vaccination program,” he said.

He added that this was part of a consolidated program launched by the provincial government in the vaccine rollout that included the setting-up of a cold chain facility that can accommodate all brands of the anti-Covid-19 medicines.

The centralized vaccination site located at the Bataan People’s Center and the 15 satellite inoculation sites located in all municipalities in the province, including those in Balanga City, Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles and Petron Refinery in Limay are ready),” Garcia added.

As of May 13, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province is 6,968 with 1,235 active infections. The total number of recoveries is 5,508 while the death tally is 225. (PNA)
