Bacolod to open 7 additional vaccination centers on May 17

THE City Government of Bacolod will open an additional seven vaccination centers in various barangays in the city on Monday, May 17, 2021.

Councilor Renecito Novero, member of the Bacolod Covid-19 Vaccination Council, on Sunday said aside from the existing nine vaccination centers including in the malls, seven new additional vaccination centers in various barangays will open on Monday.

The additional new vaccination centers include the areas of Barangays Banago, Bata, Estefania, Granada, Singcang-Airport, Taculing and Tangub.

On Friday, the City also opened seven vaccination centers in the areas of Barangays Villamonte, Mansilingan, Alijis, Punta Taytay, and Mandalagan. The two other centers are for clustered barangays, the Barangay 39 cluster and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School Cluster.

Aside from the barangays, the City has an ongoing vaccination rollout at SM City Bacolod and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Novero said the City prepared a total of 21 vaccination centers in various barangays and some of the centers are set to open Monday until May 21.

He said the vaccination centers will accommodate the healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3) eligible priority groups who have yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

He added as of Sunday, more than 1,000 healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities were vaccinated.

Novero stressed that the City Government earlier received more than 19,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government and should administer them within six or seven days.

They will accommodate only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from the Emergency Operations Center of their confirmed appointments.

The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come-first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the City's database.

Novero said to avail of the free vaccination of Bacolod City, one can register online through the link tinyurl.com/bcdceironline.

He said they are also eying to open another vaccination center in Robinsons Mall in the city.
