PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Guillermo Eleazar guaranteed on Monday, May 17, 2021, the police’s prompt response to the public’s complaints and concerns through the improved complaint referral and monitoring system dubbed as E-Sumbong.

Dapat laging isaisip ng mga pulis na time is of the essence tuwing makatatanggap ng tawag o text mula sa ating mga kababayan,” Eleazar said during the launching of the E-Sumbong in Camp Crame.

“Once they received these concerns, they should immediately act and resolve the complaints.

The program is part of Eleazar’s priority program as the 26th chief of the PNP.

The public may file reports, complaints or concerns that need immediate action with the PNP through its official SMS hotline (0919601752, 09178475757), social media accounts (facebook.com/OfficialPNPhotline), email (e-sumbong@pnp.gov.ph) and web portal (https://e-sumbong.pnp.gov.ph).

Eleazar said each complaint is checked manually by designated PNP personnel and each valid report will be forwarded to concerned police station or office for proper action.

“So only those we consider as valid or legit na hindi sila mga hoax yun lang ang ipapasok natin sa system with the corresponding format and ipapasok kahit ‘yung mismong detalye ng text,” he added.

Having full access to the system, the PNP chief can personally give directives to a police officer concerned should he find it necessary.

But Eleazar warned those who will use the system to fool the cops. He said such matter will be taken care of by the PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group.

Through the enhanced complaint referral and monitoring system, Eleazar hopes to regain the community’s trust and confidence in the PNP by showing that its personnel can be fully depended on to serve and protect.

(SunStar Philippines)
