Bosco Ciclismo holds virtual tournament for DB Boys’ Home

BOSCONIAN cycling club Bosco Ciclismo will raise money for the benefit of Don Bosco Boys’ Home in Liloan Cebu through the 2021 Virtual Bike Challenge Season 1 in June.

“Yes. This is for Don Bosco Boys’ Home Liloan. Every P70 per registration will be given to Don Bosco Boys’ Home,” Bosco Ciclismo founder Zaldy Velano told SunStar Cebu.

The biking event has two categories and five distances.

The Bosconian Category is open to Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) alumni, current students, Salesians, DBTC employees and faculty members.

The second category is the Open Category for non-Bosconian cyclists.

The distances are 100 kilometers (km), 200 km, 300 km, 400 km and 500 km.

The cyclists have to finish their desired distance inside the challenge period from June 1 to 30.

The cyclists have to post pictures of their cycling activities and a screenshot of the distance that they have covered in their GPS applications on the event’s official Facebook page: Bosco Ciclismo.

The finishers will receive their e-Certificate and Finisher’s Kit after completing the challenge.

Cyclists have three packages to choose from. The registration fee for Package A is P600, which includes a Finisher’s Shirt and a bike bag; Package B is P1,150,

which includes a Finisher’s Jersey and a bike bag; and Package C is P1,400, which includes a Finisher’s Shirt, a Finisher’s Jersey, a bike bag and a tube mask. Registration is open until May 31.

Bosco Ciclismo is a non-profit Bosconian cycling community with the advocacy of brotherhood, health and wellness. It pursues Bosconians as an integral part of the “green revolution”—with the bicycle as an alternative mode of transportation.

This group is an initiative outside the realms of the Salesian responsibility but solely for the purpose and good intentions to unite fellow brothers, alumni, past pupils, siblings faculty, technical academe, Salesians and fellow sister campuses. (EKA)
