MEMBERS of the Patrol Partylist and some police officials spearheaded the launching of Bayanihan sa Barangay (Barangayanihan) Help and Food Bank at Camp Rafael Crame, Quezon City on Friday, May 14, 2021.

Congressman Jorge "Patrol" Bustos, representative of Patrol Partylist, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police, together with Police Major General Rhodel O. Sermonia, director of the PNP-Directorate for Police Community Relations, led the launching.

Bustos said the initiative was conducted simultaneously at all police regional offices nationwide with the aim of boosting the Bayanihan spirit among PNP personnel and the communities of the Philippines.

During Friday's launch, Bustos, in accordance with its advocacies of public safety and national development, turned over 5,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the Barangayanihan Help and Food Bank to aid the PNP in reinvigorating its primary mandate of serving and protecting the country's citizens.

Eleazar received the donations.

The event culminated with Bustos receiving a plaque of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for his significant contributions to the Barangayanihan initiative.

He said it was a shining testament to the continuous collaboration of Patrol Partylist and the PNP toward the formation of a more capable and empowered police force with the aim of fostering safer and more secure communities for all Filipino families. (Chris Navarro)
