Active Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro now at 954

THE number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro has reached 954.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, May 17, the City Health Office recorded 85 new cases, 34 of which are local cases with link, six are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 44 are local index cases, and one death.

This brought the cumulative Covid-19 case count to 5,998.

According to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery, of the 5,998 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipinos/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 5,560 cases were local transmissions.

The city's active cases, on the other hand, were composed of 226 who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 728 outpatients.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 20 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 4,791, with a 79.87-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 313 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 4,354 were local cases (community: 3,444; Apors: 602).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 253.
