SECOND and third generation (F2 and F3) contacts who will be notified to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing via the Safe Davao QR (DQR) Code can now be swabbed in either of the two areas: Davao Crocodile Park and Sta. Ana Health Center.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said in a radio interview on Monday, May 17, that the City Government will continue using the Crocodile Park area as a swabbing site for its heightened surveillance on Covid-19 cases until November 17, 2021.

This, as the City Government received positive response from the private sector for utilizing the Crocodile Park as a venue for swabbing because it is more spacious and airy.

The Crocodile Park will serve as an extended Covid-19 swabbing site hub in the city in addition to Sta. Ana Health Center to increase the number of individuals to be catered for swabbing.

Duterte-Carpio said that F2 and F3 contacts who have received the DQR push notification will now be allowed to take their swab test to either of the locations.

“Tanan na dunay ILI [influenza-like illness] symptoms, tanan nga dunay gibati na simtomas, tanan na gitawag sa contract tracing F1/F2/F3 and then tanan nga gitudlo nga part sa surveillance testing (Individuals who have ILI symptoms, those who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, those who were called for contract tracing F1/F2/F3 and those who were pointed out as part of the surveillance testing will be catered),” she said.

Duterte-Carpio said having the swab test at Crocodile Park is advantageous since it is more spacious and well-ventilated compared to the Sta. Ana Health Center.

City Health Office (CHO) Acting Head Dr. Ashley Lopez said the city has designated Crocodile Park as the swabbing site for the public utility vehicle drivers until May 8 as per Executive Order 18 on the heightened surveillance and response of Covid-19 cases.

“Dili lang siya murag drive thru but it will cater pati katong atong mga private companies nga kinahanglan i-swab as part sa atoang expanded contact tracing and surveillance (It will not only be a drive-thru but it will cater also to those private companies with employees needed to be swabbed as part of our expanded contact tracing and surveillance),” Lopez said in a recent radio interview.

Lopez recently said the city has received positive response from the members of the private sector for Crocodile Park as a swabbing site.

Crocodile Park swabbing center will be open Mondays to Sundays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. They will cater individuals without the need for scheduled reservation.

For Sta. Ana Health Center, they will be open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Individuals will have to schedule for a swab test for them to be catered.

The City has established a swabbing site in Barangay Ilang in Tibungco, Barangay Talomo River in Calinan and Barangay Toril Proper.

The City also aims to set up swabbing centers at the District Health Offices. (Viannah Erispe, AdDU Intern/With reports from Ralph Lawrence G. Llemit and CIO)
