THE Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (Pace) is supporting the mass vaccination of employees of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental set on May 20.

In a statement, Renelo Lastierre, Pace president, said Tuesday, May 18, 202, that the union appreciates the concern of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to the workforce of the Provincial Government.

"The employees of this province are not exempted from the effect of this pandemic. Hence, protecting the workers who serve this province shall be primordial to the continuous delivery of public services," Lastierre said.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Monday, May 17, that the Department of Health has already approved the proposal of the Provincial Health Office to conduct a mass vaccination of employees at the Capitol.

“We are targeting more than 1,000 provincial employees,” he said, adding that health workers have earlier been vaccinated.

Those aged 55 and above will be inoculated with Aztraneca vaccines and Sinovac for 54 and below, Diaz said in an advisory to the employees.

As of May 17, a total of 43 Capitol employees have contracted the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, May 18, additional 3,000 doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines arrived in the province.
