THE Municipal Government of Toboso has locked down at least 32 households due to Covid-19.

Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco said they imposed the lockdown around 5 p.m. Monday, May 17, and it will last until May 24.

He said they made the decision due to localized transmissions at Crossing Central Danao in the town's Barangay San Jose.

Contact tracing for close contacts is now being conducted and disinfection of the area will also be carried out.

"We saw," Jaojoco said. "Nag decide na lang kami nga i-lockdown ang area."

Jaojoco said that as of Monday, May 17, six residents of Barangay San Jose have tested positive for coronavirus. One is a shopkeeper, while another was a frontliner, who despite being sick, still reported to work at the barangay and the town’s health stations.

The mayor said almost all of their frontline personnel assigned at the town's health station have been isolated, along with the Rural Health Unit.

As of Tuesday morning, May 18, Jaojoco said they have a total of 19 active Covid-19 cases.

He added that in the meantime, they have provided 10 kilos of rice, canned goods, and mineral water to each of the affected households.
